Humana and Walmart have teamed up to offer seniors a Humana Walmart-Preferred Rx Plan (PDP) with the lowest premium for a Medicare Part-D prescription drug card in the country. The premium is only $18.50 a month. Humana and Walmart can provide momentous savings on your prescription medicine costs. This plan is available to most Medicare beneficiaries, including seniors and people with disabilities. Humana is a stand-alone prescription drug plan with a Medicare contract. Other pharmacies are available in network.
“One of the primary goals of health care reform is to make health coverage more affordable – and that’s what we’re doing with the introduction of this low-cost Medicare Part D plan,” said William Fleming, PharmD, vice president of Humana Pharmacy Solutions. “People are more likely to take the medications prescribed for them when they can afford those medications. And adhering to prescription-drug regimens can enable people to be healthier and prevent future illness. At Humana, we believe that this prevention helps people live healthier lives and achieve lifelong well-being.”
This drug card makes a GREAT addition to an affordable Medicare Supplemental Insurance Policy. Remember if you already have a Medicare Advantage plan, then it will probably already have your Part-D benefits included!
This drug plan covers more than 1500 generic drugs, it was designed with you -the senior in mind, to save you money. You will pay the lowest out-of-pocket when you fill your medications at a Walmart or Sam’s Club store.
There is a $320 Annual deductible for all drug tiers.
- Tier 1 preferred generic medications are only one dollar co-pay for thirty-day supply at Walmart or Sam’s Club. Incredible as it may seem, if you use their preferred mail order provider “RightSourceRX”, your co-pay is “0″ for a 30 or 90 day order for Tier 1 & 2 generics.
- Tier 2 is only $5 at the Preferred Retail Pharmacies, and $0 copay for mail order.
- Tier 3 is 20% Coinsurance -Retail or Mail Order.
- Tier 4 is 35% Coinsurance-Retail or Mail Order.

Does this plan cover drugs when you are in the hospital?
If you get self-administered drugs that aren’t covered by Medicare Part B while in a hospital outpatient setting, the hospital may bill you for the drug. However, if you are enrolled in a Medicare drug plan (Part D), these drugs may be covered. Since most hospital pharmacies don’t participate in Medicare Part D, you may need to pay up front and out-of-pocket for these drugs and submit the claim to your Medicare drug plan for a refund. Check with your hospital to see if they participate in Part D.
How do I get a list of rx drugs so I can compare with the plan I am on now? I am especially looking to compare Humana Walmart with Silverscript.
You can check out our Drug Comparison tool Here: http://www.medicarehelp.org/2016-formulary/
What will I pay for Harvoni with my Humana RX Plan?
I have your RX plan but I haven’t received my calendar for 2016.
Why has my plan jumped from $49.00 to $61.00 ? Can I change plans to find a less expensive one?
I just signed up for the Humana Part D with Walmart Rx plan. I am on a chemotherapy drug, Tasigna, which is a Tier 5 drug. At $9,700 per month, I cannot afford the 25% copay. Do they offer a copay assistance program or do I need to search outside of the prescription plan?
It looks like Tasigna is a tier 4 or 5 on most plans you can see all the coverage here:
http://www.medicarehelp.org/2017-formularies/Tasigna
You may be able to get additional help with State Pharmaceutical Assistance Programs (SPAPs). However it depends on your state.

I was wondering if you did not sent out the walmart humana calander for 2016. We used the coupons that were with it so would like to know if it wasn’t sent out or we just didn’t get one.
I have Humana Part D. I talked to a claims specialist on January 11th and she said she would mail me a Direct Member Reimbursement Form within 14 calendar days. Now it’s January 25th and I’m still waiting. Is there any other way that I can obtain this form?
Please Contact Humana directly to clear this up.
Can any one tell me what I need to do getting started with my prescription coverage?? They make everything so difficult. Thanks
need enail or call to sign up for part d Humana, prescription drug plan for $17.85 per month.
I lost my wallet on a trip last week and I’ve been trying to reach Humana for a replacement Part D RX card. The automated system I’ve had to deal with is infuriating beyond belief. When I finally got my request through “her” thick skull she kept requesting my FAX number over and over ad infinitum. Am I the only individual card holder WITHOUT a FAX machine in my home???!!! I think not. I need a replacement card snail mailed to me and I need to finally speak to a live person. This incident is almost enough to make me switch plans the next open enrollment period.
